Warm and Sunny Forecast for Men's Basketball Victory in California

FULLERTON, Calif. (Box Score) -- With ice and freezing rain in Marion Thursday night, the Indiana Wesleyan University men's basketball team was greeted to temperatures in the 60's with mostly sunny skies as the Wildcats played their first of two games in California.

No. 10-ranked Indiana Wesleyan opened the trip out west with a convincing 71-60 victory over Biola (Calif.) University in Fullerton, California.

Indiana Wesleyan shot out of the gate in the first half and eventually built a 30-16 lead en route to the victory. IWU never trailed in the contest.

The Wildcats avoided jet lag from their Wednesday flight by racing out to a 10-2 lead. After collecting a 14 point first half lead, the Wildcats led the Eagles 36-29 at the break.

Biola (7-3) scored the first four points of the second half to cut the Wildcat advantage to three points at 36-33, but Indiana Wesleyan responded with 15 of the next 19 points to pull away once more with a 51-37 lead.

IWU (11-3) would extend the lead to as many as 19 points before coasting for the 71-60 victory.

Indiana Wesleyan shot 49.1-percent (26 of 53) from the floor while draining nine-of-20 (45.0-percent) 3-point shots.

Senior guard Antonio Murrell poured in 18 points while hauling six rebounds to lead the Wildcats. Sophomore forward Will Hubertz had 15 points off the bench with five 3-point buckets and senior forward Landon Adler chipped in with 12 points.

Indiana Wesleyan completes the California trip on Saturday night as the Wildcats play Vanguard (Calif.) University at 10:30 p.m. ET.
