Box Score SIOUX CENTER, Iowa -- Dordt (Iowa) College ended the Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball team's season on Saturday evening in the NAIA National Championship Opening Round.
Indiana Wesleyan lost 22-25, 23-25, 25-22 and 19-25 as the match was played in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Dordt advances to the NAIA National Championship in Sioux City, Iowa where the final 24 teams will do battle. The Defenders improve to 32-7 on the season while the Wildcats' season comes to an end at 27-15 with the first ever national tournament appearance in program history.
Both teams were ranked in the final NAIA Top-25 poll. Dordt entered play ranked No. 16 and Indiana Wesleyan was No. 23. Indiana Wesleyan was the lone representative of the Mid-Central College Conference in the national championships while Dordt is the fourth member of the Great Plains Athletic Conference to reach the national championship round in Sioux City.
Senior Rebekah Reichard earned a team-high 15 kills as the Indiana Wesleyan all-time kill leader's career has come to a close. Senior Krystin Coleman totaled 16 assists while freshman Kelsey Masuda had 18 digs.
Senior Christy Beam and freshman Lauryn Barfell each collected one solo and six block assists.
