Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Tuesday night featured a contest between a pair of top-15 men's basketball programs as Indiana Tech defeated Indiana Wesleyan University 84-79 in overtime in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
No. 12-ranked Indiana Tech is now 5-0 on the year while No. 14-ranked Indiana Wesleyan drops to 6-1.
Indiana Wesleyan trailed 70-67 in the closing seconds of the game. Senior guard Antonio Murrell drained a 3-pointer with just seven seconds left to push the contest into overtime. Murrell ended the evening with a team-high 19 points.
But Indiana Tech held off Indiana Wesleyan in the extra session by outscoring the Wildcats 14-9 in overtime.
Senior forward Landon Adler totaled 16 points and senior guard Jon Moon contributed 15 points for Indiana Wesleyan.
The game featured 59 free throw attempts between the two programs. Indiana Wesleyan finished 18-of-23 (78.3-percent) while Indiana Tech was 27-of-36 (75.0-percent)
Indiana Wesleyan seeks to get back into the win column this weekend as the Wildcats compete in the Trinity International Tournament in Deerfield, Illinois. IWU plays host Trinity International (Ill.) University on Friday night at 9 p.m. and NAIA DI No. 2-ranked Robert Morris (Ill.) College on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.
