Box Score UPLAND, Ind. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball team clinched an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament after beating Taylor (Ind.) University 3-2 in the Mid-Central College Conference Tournament championship match on Saturday afternoon in Upland, Indiana.
The victory secured a seventh consecutive MCC Tournament title dating back to 2002.
Indiana Wesleyan won the tournament crown by scores of 21-25, 25-15, 25-13, 16-25 and 15-11.
The win puts the Wildcats into the NAIA National Tournament. The first round of matches will be played at home sites and pairings will be released by the NAIA on Sunday night.
Senior Erin Morris led all players with 24 kills with a .419 kill percentage. Senior Rebekah Reichard tallied 18 kills and a match-high 27 digs. Junior Kelli Ziegler totaled 14 kills and six block assists while seniors Christy Beam and Krystin Coleman combined for 60 assists.
Indiana Wesleyan ups their record to 27-14 while Taylor's season ends at 32-8.
The Wildcats learn their fate on Sunday as IWU will compete in the NAIA National Tournament next Saturday, November 22.
