No. 14-ranked Indiana Wesleyan built a 39-20 halftime lead en route to the 12 point win over No. 22-ranked Aquinas in the first contest of the MCC/WHAC Challenge.
Eight Wildcats scored at least five points to carry a balanced offensive attack. Junior forward Zach Coverstone scored 14 points and senior forward Landon Adler added 12 to lead IWU. The pair also led the team in rebounds with nine for Adler and eight for Coverstone.
Indiana Wesleyan shot 48.3-percent (28 of 58) from the floor. Entering the contest, IWU had shot over 54-percent from 3-point range. The Wildcats found a way to win tonight after hitting on just 18.8-percent (3 of 16) from beyond the arc.
The Wildcat defense held their third opponent of the season to under 40-percent shooting as Indiana Wesleyan forced Aquinas to 38.3-percent (18 of 47) on the evening.
