Box Score GOSHEN, Ind. -- The regular season came to a close on Tuesday night for the Indiana Wesleyan University women's soccer team with a 3-0 victory at Goshen (Ind.) College.
Senior Becca Mathews, the reigning Mid-Central College Conference Offensive Player of the Week, scored two goals in the win. Both goals came in the second half of play as Mathews has scored five times in her last two matches.
Sophomore Megan Marshall scored the eventual game-winning goal early in the match. She scored in the sixth minute of play off an assist from senior Amy Hockersmith.
The Wildcats controlled most of the match and out-shot the Maple Leafs by a 17-7 margin.
Indiana Wesleyan ups their record on the season to 11-2-1 overall and 6-1-1 in the MCC. Goshen drops to 4-11-1 and 0-7-1 in the conference.
IWU will host a first round match in the MCC Tournament on Saturday, November 1 versus an opponent still to be determined.
