Box Score 1 CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University volleyball team concluded their trip to Chicago, Illinois with an unbeaten 4-0 mark at the University of Saint Francis (Ill.) Big Guns Invitational over the weekend.
After a pair of three set wins on Friday, the Wildcats won both their matches 3-1 on Saturday.
Indiana Wesleyan opened the day with host University of Saint Francis (Ill.). After dropping the first set of the match 28-30, Indiana Wesleyan won three straight sets for the victory by scores of 28-26, 25-16 and 25-17.
Senior Krystin Coleman delivered 27 assists and freshman Kelsey Masuda gained 24 digs while senior Jill MacMillan blocked three kill Saint Francis kill attempts. Senior Rebekah Reichard tallied a team-high 19 kills in the match.
The Wildcats completed the perfect tournament in the afternoon with a 3-1 win over Illinois Tech. IWU once again dropped the first set before winning the final three to earn the victory.
Indiana Wesleyan won the match by scores of 21-25, 25-21, 25-14 and 25-23.
The highlight of the match was Reichard. The Warsaw, Indiana native broke the Indiana Wesleyan program record of 2,085 kills in a career during the match. She ended the contest with 22 kills in addition to 14 digs and three blocks.
Coleman had 26 assists and sophomore Sara Byrne served three aces. Freshman Lauryn Barfell added three blocks.
Indiana Wesleyan is now 21-10 on the season and has won 12 of their last 14 matches.
The Wildcats next play at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, as Indiana Wesleyan hosts University of Saint Francis (Ind.).
