Box Score MARION, Ind. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University women?s basketball team moved up four spots to No. 5 in the latest NAIA poll, according to the association.
The Wildcats were ranked No. 9 over the holidays as the last poll was announced on December 12. But Indiana Wesleyan ran off six consecutive wins since then to advance in the rankings.
IWU accumulated 440 points in the poll while College of the Ozarks (Mo.), who received 10 of the 17 first place votes, leads the rankings with 501 points. Ozarks holds a 14-1 mark.
Indiana Wesleyan currently maintains a 55 game win streak and is 17-0 this season. Despite the undefeated streak, Mid-Central College Conference foe, University of Saint Francis (Ind.), is ahead of the Wildcats at No. 3 with a 16-1 record. Saint Francis earned 483 points and four first place votes.
Bethel (Ind.) College is the third MCC squad in the top-10. Bethel is seventh with 385 points and a 14-2 record.
Indiana Wesleyan returns to action tonight at 7 p.m. at Marian (Ind.) College in Indianapolis, Indiana.
