Spring Arbor, MI (January 30, 2008) ? The NAIA No. 13 Indiana Wesleyan University women?s basketball team outscored Mid-Central College Conference opponent Spring Arbor University 39-20 in the second half of play Wednesday to propel the Wildcats to a 69-49 victory.
IWU (20-4, 6-4) held the Cougars to just 35 percent shooting in the second half and forced 22 Spring Arbor turnovers over the course of the game. IWU converted the Cougar turnovers into 24 points.
The Wildcats were led by the senior center Lisa Thompson?s 22 points and six rebounds. IWU, as a team, dominated inside the paint where they outscored Spring Arbor 38-16.
Senior guard Brooke Amstutz and junior guard Andrea Fichter were the only other Wildcats in double figures with 15 points and 13 points, respectively. Freshman guard Kayla Thompson led IWU with five assists.
The Wildcats have a bye this Saturday, February 2, and will be back in action next Wednesday, February 6, as they play host to MCC foe Grace College at 7 p.m.
