Upland, IN (January 23, 2008) ? The Indiana Wesleyan University men?s basketball team drubbed cross county Mid-Central College Conference rival Taylor University 81-42 Wednesday night.
The Wildcats (15-6, 4-4) started the game with a 10-0 run and never relinquished the lead. IWU held the Trojans without a point for six and a half minutes as they went up 10-0 behind three-pointers from Jon Moon and Will Hubertz and a free throw apiece from Spencer Harris and Antonio Murrell.
IWU led by as much as 30 points in the first half before heading to the locker room with a 40-12 lead.
The Wildcats came out hot again in the second half as they put away the game with a 16-4 run to spread the margin to 56-16. The lead never fell below thirty points for the rest of the game.
Junior guard Jon Moon led IWU with 17 points on five-for-eight shooting all from behind the three-point arc and two-for-two from the free throw line.
Sophomore guard Spencer Harris and junior guard Antonio Murrell were the only other Wildcats in double-figures with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Harris led IWU with six assists and Murrell had a team-high five rebounds.
The Wildcats shot 57 percent from the field, including 72 percent from behind the three-point line.
IWU comes back to Luckey Gymnasium for their next game on Saturday, January 26, at 3 p.m. against MCC opponent Goshen College.
