Box Score MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- No. 11-ranked Bethel (Ind.) College brought an end to the Indiana Wesleyan University men?s basketball modest four-game win streak on Saturday afternoon in an 80-65 final in Mishawaka, Indiana.
Indiana Wesleyan (13-5, 2-3) struggled early in the contest as Bethel was able to pounce to a 16-2 advantage to open the game. But the Wildcats quickly responded by scoring 16 of the next 23 points to narrow the Pilots? lead to 23-18.
The streaky first half continued as Bethel scored 15 of the next 17 points to bust open a 38-20 advantage late in the half. But once again Indiana Wesleyan would not quit and ran off a 12-0 run to end the opening stanza and head into the locker room down 38-32.
Bethel (16-3, 4-1) jumped on the Wildcats to open the second half with a 15-4 run to extend their lead to 17 points at 53-36. The Wildcats never recovered.
Indiana Wesleyan could not cut the deficit to single digits the rest of the way in the 80-65 defeat.
Sophomore guard Spencer Harris led the Wildcats in scoring with 17 points.
Indiana Wesleyan will return to action at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16 as the Wildcats host Huntington (Ind.) University in Luckey Arena.
