Women's Basketball Ties NAIA Record with 47th Consecutive Victory

Box Score Marion, Ind. -- The NAIA No. 15 Indiana Wesleyan University women?s basketball tied the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics women?s basketball record of 47 consecutive wins as they defeated Goshen College 70-35 Tuesday night.

IWU tied Southwestern Oklahoma?s consecutive winning streak from 1983-84 of 47 consecutive wins.
The Wildcats (9-0, 1-0) went up 12-0 nothing in the first eight minutes and never let the lead slip below seven points after that.

Senior guard Brooke Amstutz led the IWU offense, which had four players in double-digit scoring, with 15 points. Senior Lisa Thompson and freshman Kayla Thompson added 12 points apiece, and junior Andrea Fichter contributed 11 points.

Lisa Thompson led the Wildcats with five assists.

The Wildcats play their next game at home on Saturday, December 8, at 1 p.m. against Spring Arbor.
