Box Score SPRING ARBOR, Mich. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University men?s basketball team lost their second consecutive Mid-Central College Conference game following a 63-56 loss at Spring Arbor (Mich.) University on Tuesday night.
The Wildcats (8-3, 0-2 MCC) overcame an 11 point Cougar advantage in the second half to capture a four point lead at 54-50 with four minutes left to play. But Spring Arbor rebounded to take control and outscored Indiana Wesleyan 13-2 to finish the contest.
Junior Antonio Murrell recorded game-highs with 24 points and eight rebounds. Sophomore Zach Coverstone scored 15 points, all in the first half. He was 7-of-11 from the field.
The difference in the game came at the free throw line as the Cougars (7-4, 1-1 MCC) made seven more points from the line. Indiana Wesleyan ended the evening 8-of-15 (54.5-percent) from the charity stripe while Spring Arbor was a perfect 15-of-15 (100-percent).
The Spring Arbor bench outscored their IWU counterpart by a 20-6 margin.
Indiana Wesleyan does not compete in the MCC again until January 5, 2008 at home against Grace (Ind.) College. But the Wildcats return to action at 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 8, as Indiana Wesleyan hits the road to battle Ohio Dominican University.
