The Wildcats started off slow today at the Taylor Soccer field but still had a 1-0 lead at halftime. IWU's Becca Mathews scored after receiving a pass in the penalty area from Claire Comerouski. Taylor did not get a shot off in the first half while the Wildcats were credited with 5 shots. In the second half IWU picked up the game and began to get quality looks at the goal but could not finish. Taylor scored to even the match at 1-1 with 26:40 to play but could not establish any momentum. The Wildcats continued to dominate and put high pressure on the Taylor players as they tried to possess and build attacks. With 11:35 to go, IWU earned a corner kick, which was taken by Stephanie Falatko, last week's MCC player of the week. Senior Janelle Demchak headed in the winning goal as the Wildcat side celebrated the conference championship when the final horn went off. Indiana Wesleyan took 17 shots to Taylor's 5. IWU will host a first round match Saturday, October 21st at 7 PM.
