Mark DeMichael begins his 9th season as Head Baseball Coach at Indiana Wesleyan University. The Wildcats have reached 6 NCCAA World Series in the last 8 years with 3rd place finishes in 1998, 2003 and 2005 while averaging 26 wins a season over that same 8 year span.
Coach DeMichael graduated from Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA in 1988. Upon graduation he moved to Southern California where he taught Physical Education in the San Bernardino California Public School System for 6 years. While teaching at San Bernardino, Coach was the Head Baseball Coach at San Bernardino High School from 1991 - 1995.
In 1995 Coach DeMichael accepted the Head Baseball Coaching position at Eastern Nazarene College where he remained for 3 years. Coach was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Coach Of The Year twice in his three years at ENC, leading the Crusaders to their first ever appearance in the CCC Conference Championship game in 1997.
Coach DeMichael moved to IWU during the summer of 1997. In addition to his coaching duties, Coach is also an Assistant Professor of Physical Education as well as the Program Coordinator for the Physical Education Major. He is an active member in NAIA Baseball, where he serves as NAIA Region VIII Baseball Chair, and is a member of the NIAI National Baseball Rules Committee and the NAIA National Tournament Procedures Committee.
Coach DeMichael lives in Marion with Kim, his wife of 17 years who is a Professor of Secondary Education at IWU, and his two daughters, Ashley,14 and Kasey,11.
