AS AN ATHLETE:

• As a college athlete, John was a 5-time NAIA All-American setting school records in the discus, shot put, and hammer throw.
• After his college career, John competed as a professional discus thrower as a member of Global Throwing.
• He competed around the world and at 3 US National Championships including the 2012 Olympic Team Trials. During that time he improved his personal best in the discus to 64.47m / 211’6” which was the 5th farthest throw in the US in 2011.

 
COACHING HIGHLIGHTS:

• Over the last 11 years, John has seen tremendous success as a throws coach. He is known worldwide for his teaching on discus and shot put and he has helped hundreds of athletes set and reset new personal bests. Because of John’s success, athletes travel from all over the world to seek his knowledge.

PERSONAL INFORMATION:

• John is happily married to Laura (an NAIA All-American in the 100-meter dash for the Wildcats in 2010) and they have two wonderful boys Samuel and Weston.
