Assistant Track and Field Coach for Middle Distance and Distance

Chris Coy brings both high school and collegiate experience to the Indiana Wesleyan University track and field program. After a long successful career at Blackford High School, Coy coached the Taylor (Ind.) track and field team for 18 years.

Coy and Foss developed a close friendship and a mutual respect for each other while coaching as rivals for 18 years. After his retirement from Taylor track and field, Foss reached out and convinced Coy to join IWU’s track and field part-time staff. The Wildcat track and field program has benefitted greatly since his addition.

Coy is currently a professor in the science department at IWU and works with some of the distance and middle distance athletes. He continues to be successful with his group demonstrating consistent improvement and solid achievements on the track.

Chris is married to Tyann and has two children who both graduated from Blackford and attended University of Indianapolis.
