Chandler Herman joined the Indiana Wesleyan University Athletic Training staff as a Staff Athletic Trainer in the fall of 2020, before being promoted to Associate Athletic Trainer in the Summer of 2022. He currently provides medical services for the IWU Men’s Soccer, Men's Bowling, Men's Golf, and Baseball teams.
Prior to arriving at IWU, Herman worked as an Intern Athletic Trainer at North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC serving the Volleyball and Softball teams.
Herman’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology – Athletic Training Emphasis from Georgia Southern University. While at Georgia Southern, Chandler worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer serving the Volleyball and All-Girl/Co-Ed Competitive Cheerleading teams. Additionally, he served as a clinical preceptor for the GSU Athletic Training Education Program and co-instructed Kinesiology Lab in the GSU Kinesiology Department. Herman is currently pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from IWU.
Herman is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association, and the Indiana Athletic Trainers’ Association and serves as a preceptor in the IWU Master of Science Athletic Training program. He holds National Athletic Training Certification through the BOC (Board of Certification) and Indiana State Athletic Training Licensure. Additional certifications and credentials include CPR/AED/First-Aid, Graston Technique M-1, and Mental Health First Aid Instructor.
Chandler resides in Marion with his wife, Madison, and dog, Lucy. He is an avid NASCAR, F1, and Cleveland sports fan and is a worship leader at The Exit Church in Gas City, IN
