Men's Soccer Rolls Past Taylor to Advance to the Crossroads Tournament Semifinal

MARION, Ind. - No. 5 Indiana Wesleyan Men's Soccer welcomed the 8 seed Taylor University in the Crossroads League Tournament Quarterfinal on Wednesday evening. The Wildcats scored once in the first half and twice in the second to win 3-0. IWU will be in action next in the Crossroads League Tournament Semifinal against the University of Saint Francis.

Taylor started the match with a shot on goal in the 4th minute, but Kadin Wolfe made the tough save. IWU had a good scoring opportunity in the 10th minute as Guzman Trigo had back-to-back shots but was unable to score. Late in the 17th minute, Diego Lazaro fired in the first goal. The goal marks the first for Lazaro as a Wildcat. After halftime, IWU continued to put on pressure until Kai Haskell banged in a 30-yard shot in the upper left corner of the goal assisted by Tyce Glover. The third and final score came from a corner by Jose Garcia that ricocheted off the keeper into the body of Erick Vanzela and back into the net in the 71st minute.
