MILLIE TROYER (JACOBS)
LIFELONG SUPPORTER | 1929-2019
Mildred “Millie” Troyer (Jacobs) is remembered as one of the most spirited and influential supporters in Indiana Wesleyan University’s athletic and alumni history, earning her a distinguished place in the IWU Hall of Honor. A proud graduate of Marion College in 1948, Millie was the standard of consistent support for IWU Athletics throughout her life. Her deep passion for the university transcended generations, culminating in her trailblazing appointment as the first female Athletic Director at Marion College. Millie also served as the first woman to lead the Alumni Association as both President and Executive Director. In recognition of her decades of service, IWU named Troyer Fieldhouse in her honor in 2011. She was the recipient of numerous university accolades, including the Distinguished Alumna Award (1972), Alumni Appreciation Award (1986), Presidential Award (1990), Athletic Director’s Award (2005), and Presidential Citation (2009). Millie passed away in 2019, but her generous heart, contagious joy, and deep faith will never be forgotten.
