GULF SHORES, Ala. - It was an exciting final day for Indiana Wesleyan track & field, as the Wildcats took home a National Championship in the men's 4x800 and added four All-American's to the list.
The squad of Weston Kundo, Josh Felo, Charlie Young, David Bignell and Steven Ott repeated as 4x800 National Champions, having taken the Indoor Championship in the Indoor Nationals a few months back. Their time of 7:29.44 set a new school record and bested second place by just one second.Â
The excitement didn't stop in the morning as Merideth DeVries and Scott Rathbun kicked off the afternoon earning All-American status in the discus and pole vault. The freshman Devries took Runner-up respectively in discus.
The fun didn't stop there as Jezelle Shaw capped off her senior season with an All-American finish in the women's 400m.
Due to weather, both Steven Ott and Charlie Young would have to pull the improvable double, racing in the 800m just four hours later. Seeded third and fifth respectively, Ott and Young would finish third and sixth bringing IWU's All-American total to seven for the 2022 NAIA Outdoor Championships.Â
