MARION, Ind. - Indiana Wesleyan men's and women's indoor track and field kicked off their 2022 season Friday and Saturday hosting the IWU Invitational. The invite was not scored as a team competition.

The weekend was highlighted by the men's 4x800 team who collected the lone NAIA National A-Standard with a time of 7:49.77. The quartet of Steven Ott, Charlie Young, David Bignell, and Weston Kund time was good for 8-seconds faster than the needed standard, and currently sits as the fastest time in the country.

SNYDER PERSPECTIVE

• We were really excited to get our first meet going, and it was fun to see people compete again. We saw a lot of good things, and we're excited for the rest of the season. A lot of work to do still, but we're hoping they can put the pieces together in the coming weeks.

• IWU heads to the Jet's Pizza Invitational in Saginaw, Michigan next weekend.
