MEN'S SOCCER ADVANCES TO SEMIFINALS ON PENALTY KICKS

Box Score HUNTINGTON, Ind. - Indiana Wesleyan men's soccer advance to the Crossroads League semi-finals after winning 6-5 on penalty kicks this afternoon.  The game ended after double overtime 0-0 leading to penalty kicks to decide a winner.  This is the first time the Wildcats have defeated Huntington since 2015.
 
GAME INSIGHTS
  • The game was a battle on both ends of the field, as Wildcats came out with seven shots in the first half to Forrester's zero. Huntington increased their offensive presence and equalized the shots with both teams ending regulation with 15 shots.
  • Huntington scored a goal with 20 seconds remaining in regulation that was called offsides and sent the game into overtime play.
  • When it came to penalty kicks, Kyle Rinehart scored the first goal. Aaron Carr made a save on Huntington's first shot. Both teams made another three goals to tie up 4-4 out of the first five shots. Giuseppe Santacroce scored the sixth goal and Aaron Carr saved the last Huntington attempt.
