Darnell Sets New School Record on Day 2 of Calvin Invite

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Indiana Wesleyan swimming started the mid-season championship at Calvin College in Grand Rapids on Thursday. The Wildcats are currently in seventh place after nine events with 246 points. On Friday the Wildcats posted eight new NAIA national qualifying times. Sydney Darnell also set the school record in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 58.60 good for eleventh place.

  • Today our team stepped up in a tremendous way! To have come into this meet with just 3 national qualifiers and have 11 after today is AMAZING! Add to that a new school record in the 100 backstroke (Darnell) and truly, the team has turned in some truly outstanding swims today! We are excited to see what Saturday will hold!

  • The Wildcats return to Venema Aquatic Center at Calvin College on December 7th for Day 3  of the Mid Season Championships.
