Box Score MARION, Ind. – On a night where both teams evenly possessed the ball, neither Indiana Wesleyan men’s soccer or Mt. Vernon Nazarene could muster a goal after 110 minutes of play. The Wildcats edged the Cougars 14-9 in shots, but IWU managed just five on goal. Despite attempting a season-high of ten corners, IWU mustered just one of those on frame.
SANFORD PERSPECTIVE
- Give credit to Mt. Vernon, they were definitely trying to pass the ball and build out and they did. We struggled to find quality in the final third and that’s on us. Moving forward to Huntington they’re a very good team with a great midfield. We will need to defend well in the midfield or we are going to have some serious issues.
NEXT TIME ON THE PITCH
- IWU remains at home, facing Huntington on Saturday, September 29 at 7 p.m.
