Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. – For 66 minutes Indiana Wesleyan men’s soccer fought off shot after shot until Lindsey Wilson found the back of the net breaking the scoreless match. The Blue Raiders fired off 22 shots during that span forcing Wildcat keeper Naoya Fugono to make seven saves. Lindsey Wilson would strike again three minutes later putting IWU in a two-goal hole. The Wildcats would make things interesting, pushing across a goal in the 81st minute, but it would prove to be little to late, dropping the match 2-1.
SANFORD PERSPECTIVE
- It is always good to get a good test and we certainly got that tonight. If we’re honest, there were spells of the game where we were really chasing the game. That’s just the truth. However, we bent but didn’t break and it shows the character of this group that we scored the last goal. We have some serious recovering to do and will get ready to bounce back Saturday.
NEXT TIME ON THE PITCH
- IWU continues their Kentucky road trip facing Campbellsville on September 15.
