MARION, Ind. – It was a tail of two half’s Friday as Indiana Wesleyan men’s soccer netted three goals in the final 17 minutes, topping Michigan-Dearborn 3-1. CJ Strawser netted the tying goal with Gabe Quesda scoring a minute later giving IWU the 2-1 lead. Will McComb slammed the door shut in the 85th minute for his first goal of the season.  

SANFORD PERSEPCTIVE

• Tonight, was about character. We talked before the game with the guys that we wanted nine points out of the gate. We said at halftime it takes a tough team to win 1-0 games, but not many teams show they can come from behind. Soccer is crazy. You dominate and go down sometimes. But the guys were resilient and the depth and character of our squad shone through. It’s a good weekend to be a Wildcat.

• IWU heads on the road for the first time this season on September 6 facing Indiana Tech.
