"We were not good enough, bottom line," said IWU head coach Luke Sanford. "We did not pass like we want to and expect to. Mount Vernon Nazarene is a tough side and is not an easy place to play. We are not in the business of making excuses though so we will each own our part of not being good enough and be sure we are preapred for the conference tournament."

"I am proud of how these guys responded in conference play and that we pur ourselves atop the table," said Sanford. "It would have been nice to have finished with a win. We will see how results fall and will be working on being sure we're ready to compete in the tournament no matter who we play."
