PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University women’s golf team completed play on Wednesday at the NCCAA National Championship with a seventh place finish at The Hombre Golf Club in Panama City Beach, Florida.
The Wildcats were seventh place following each of the three rounds. The team fired a three round score of 1,095 with rounds of 380-350-365.
“We came in seeded eighth and finished seventh,” said Wildcat head coach Julie Wagner. “Our team had a goal to finish in the seventh position and that’s what we did. The team came in last place last year so a two place finish improvement is great for our team.”
Dallas Baptist (Texas) easily won the national championship with a score of 943 (320-309-314) to beat runner-up Campbellsville (Ky.) who shot a 1,011 (343-337-331). There was a total of nine teams in the field.
Maggie Kaiser (JR/Belvidere, Ill.) turned in the low card for the Wildcats with a three day score of 273 (91-87-95) to place 25th in the 47 player field. Carley LaPlant (SO/Adrian, Mich.) was one stroke behind Kaiser at 274 (91-87-96) for 26th place.
