PERU, Ind. -- The first season of women’s golf at Indiana Wesleyan University is in the books as the team took fourth place at the first ever Crossroads League Championship.
Indiana Wesleyan finished with a team score of 728 (370-358) in the two day tournament that featured six teams. The tournament was held at Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru, Indiana.
Two Wildcats were named All-Crossroads League with top-10 finishes this weekend. Taylor Goshert was eighth place in the 29-golfer field with a score of 174 (88-86). Jessica Meloche tied for 10th place as she turned in a card of 179 (92-87).
Jessica Pegg claimed 14th place with a 184 (93-91), Haley Elenbaas took 18th with a 192 (97-95), and Carli Lauer placed 21st position as she shot a 195 (101-94).
Bethel (Ind.) College won the tournament by 52 strokes with a final score of 636 (316-320). Marian (Ind.) University was runner-up with a 688 (342-344) and University of Saint Francis (Ind.) placed third at 717 (362-355). Rounding out the field was Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) University in fifth place with a score of 828 (409-419) and Taylor (Ind.) University was sixth at 846 (432-414).
