Box Score FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Huntington (Ind.) University did not register a shot on goal as Indiana Wesleyan University men's soccer continues its unbeaten streak with a 1-0 victory at the Fort Wayne Sports Club in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
The strong performance from the Wildcat defense limited the Foresters to five total shots with none of them being on target. IWU freshman keeper Josh Goepper had an easy day in net as he was credited with the shutout.
Goepper received all the support he needed in the eighth minute of the match. Freshman midfielder Keaton Albert connected with junior defender Tad Glibert for the only goal of the match. The goal for Glibert was his second of the season.
Indiana Wesleyan dominated the match despite the close 1-0 final score. IWU launched 12 shots to just five for Huntington. Nine of the Indiana Wesleyan shots were on goal, keeping HU keeper Drew Mattingly busy all afternoon. Mattingly was forced to make eight saves to keep Huntington in the match.
Indiana Wesleyan remains atop the Crossroads League standings with Grace (Ind.) College and Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) University. All three teams have seven points with identical 2-0-1 records. Overall, Indiana Wesleyan is 7-1-3 and has not lost in the last nine matches, dating back to August 25. Huntington drops to 5-5-2 overall and 0-3-0 in the Crossroads League.
The Wildcats return to play at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2 with a home contest against Mount Vernon Nazarene at Wildcat Field.
