VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Junior Alyssa Foss was the lone Wildcat to represent Indiana Wesleyan University at the 2012 NAIA Women's Cross Country National Championship held at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver, Washington.
Foss ran a time of 19 minutes 23 seconds for a 91st place individual finish. The 5,000-meter course was host to 320 runners which included 32 teams and 110 individuals.
The junior qualified as an individual through the Crossroads League Championship two weeks ago. The top five runners who are not on the team winning the automatic bid and placed in the top-15 of the race qualified for the national championship meet. Foss was the fifth runner to qualify but was the third Crossroads League runner to cross the line today.
This is the third national championship race for Foss who has run in the team competition the past two seasons.
