Box Score WINONA LAKE, Ind. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University men's soccer team created chance after chance Wednesday afternoon but dropped a hard luck 1-0 decision to host Grace (Ind.) College in Winona Lake, Indiana.
The Wildcats (7-4-0, 1-1-0 MCC) outshot the Lancers 21-9 in the contest but were unable to put one past Grace keeper Collin Cone. IWU also held a steep advantage in corner kicks with eight to just one for Grace.
The Lancers (6-2-1, 2-0-0 MCC) created the lone score of the afternoon in the very beginning of the second half. Austin Altimus fed Aaron Zeurcher for the tally just two minutes into the half (47th minute) for the game-winning goal.
Indiana Wesleyan sophomore goalkeeper Dylan McCauley made three saves in the match on the four shots he faced.
Indiana Wesleyan will return to Wildcat Field for their next contest. IWU hosts Huntington (Ind.) University at 3:15 p.m. on Homecoming Saturday on October 1.
