Box Score HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- The Indiana Wesleyan University men's cross country team was a single point shy of the invitational victory Saturday at the Highlander Invitational in Houghton New York.
College of Brockport (N.Y.) edged Indiana Wesleyan 76-75 for the Highlander Invitational win. Ottawa was next with 97 points.
Indiana Wesleyan was the lone team with two runners in the top-10. Sophomore Matt McAndrews earned a fourth place finish in 26:03 while Andrew Albert was one spot back as he crossed the line in 26:07.
Junior Korey Caulkins placed 20th overall with a time of 27:00 and junior Matt Mitchell was the fourth Wildcat as he raced to a 23rd place finish in 27:04. The final scorer for IWU was junior Mason Webb in 26th at 27:08.
Rounding out the Indiana Wesleyan team on Saturday was junior Tyler Alles in 32nd at 27:14 and junior Shawn Howse in 34th as he crossed the line in 27:16.
Houghton (N.Y.) College senior Stephen Hine was the individual winner as he ran a 25:32 on the 8,000-meter course.
Indiana Wesleyan returns home for their next meet as they host the IWU Invitational on Saturday at 11 a.m. The meet is during Homecoming and will be raced at the IWU Outdoor Athletic Complex.
