Box Score MISHAWAKA, Ind. (Box Score) -- Indiana Wesleyan University men's soccer fell 3-2 on Wednesday night to No. 10-ranked Bethel (Ind.) College in Mishawaka, Indiana.
Bethel (13-0-1, 6-0-0 MCC) was led by a hat trick from Romulo Nobrega, who accounted for all the scoring for the Pilots. His final tally in the 59th minute was the eventual game-winner.
Nobrega opened the scoring in the 19th minute to give Bethel the early 1-0 lead. IWU junior forward David Trainer scored an equalizer in the 30th minute off an assist from junior midfielder Austin Bock.
Just before halftime, the Pilots regained the lead with a goal in the 44th minute as BC took the 2-1 advantage into the break.
Bethel increased their lead to 3-1 with Nobrega's mark in the 59th minute. Indiana Wesleyan completed the scoring with a goal by freshman midfielder Lucas Carpenter in the 90th minute.
Indiana Wesleyan (4-9-1, 3-2-0 MCC) ended the match with seven shots with all seven being on goal. Bethel put five of their 16 shots on net.
The Wildcats return to the pitch at 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 17 as IWU hosts Taylor (Ind.) University at Wildcat Field.
