The NAIA No. 11 Indiana Wesleyan University men?s soccer team were defeated 2-1 Saturday by Madonna University in the NAIA Region VIII semifinal.The Wildcats (17-4-1) took the lead in the first half off a Kyle Joern corner kick. Joern?s ball bounced around at the near post before senior J.P. Bratcher flicked it to the back post where junior Ben Chleboun tapped it in. IWU ended the half up 1-0.

Madonna bounced back in the second half though with goals in the 57th and 63rd minutes. The Wildcats had their chances in the closing ten minutes?including a Christian Davis free kick from 40 yards out that was deflected off of the crossbar?but were never able to find the back of the net.

The Wildcats hope to earn an at-large berth into the NAIA National Tournament after concluding a season that has included Mid-Central College Conference (MCC) regular season and tournament championships and a national ranking as high as sixth in the nation.
