Women's Soccer

WOMEN'S SOCCER CLAIMS EIGHT ALL-LEAGUE HONORS; CRONIN & WILLIAMS WIN INDIVIDUAL AWARDS

MARION, Ind. - The Crossroads League announced this year's Women's Soccer All-League awards on Thursday morning with Indiana Wesleyan claiming eight league honors. The Wildcats finished their regular season with an 13-2-1 overall record under first year head coach, Hannah Shay.

“We are excited to honor the players receiving all-conference recognition,” said head coach Hannah Shay. "We are always reminded of the group effort that it takes for any one player to perform at the level that merits this honor, so we celebrate every award as a team. Congrats to all our award winners for their work ethic, talent, and performance this season!”

SAVANNA CRONIN 

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR | FIRST TEAM

Savanna Cronin was named the 2025 Crossroads League Defensive Player of the Year, along with First Team honors. This was Cronin's first All-League honors of her career. The sophomore defender was key for the Wildcat backline, starting all 18 games and playing a total of 1,583 minutes, which placed 3rd on the team. Cronin helped IWU to an incredible 11 shutouts this year and not allowing any team to score more than 1 goal in a game. 

 

 

 

AVERY WILLIAMS 

 CO-NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR | FIRST TEAM

Avery Williams was named as the Co-Newcomer of the Year and earned a spot on the First Team after starting in all 18 matches. The freshman was IWU's leading goal scoring, recording 9 goals on the season which was tied for 6th in the Crossroads League and added 1 assist. Williams tied for 3rd in goals scored during conference play with 4. 

 

 

 

SARAH FOULK

FIRST TEAM

Sarah Foulk earned Crossroads League First Team honors for the third time in her career. Foulk scored 5 goals and recorded 3 assists this season. Her goal numbers were tied for 3rd and her assists was tied for 2nd on the team. The grad student was one of nine Wildcats to start every game this year.

 

 

 

SYDNEY COUCH

FIRST TEAM

Sydney Couch was named to her first career Crossroads League First Team. The midfielder registered career highs in goals and assists this season with 5 and 2 respectively. Couch's goal number was tied for 3rd on the squad. The junior was another Wildcat to start in every game this year playing 1,475 total minutes. She was an integral part of the offense as she was 2nd on the team in total shots.

 

 

 

ALYSSA HAMANN 

FIRST TEAM

Alyssa Hamann earned Crossroads League First Team honors for the second straight season. The junior was a key piece of the Wildcat defense playing the 2nd most minutes on the team. Hamann directed the backline to 11 clean sheets and only 2 goals allowed in conference play. The defender registered 3 assists to her name, tied for 2nd on the team.

 

 

 

AVERY SLUSS 

FIRST TEAM

Avery Sluss claimed a spot on the Crossroads League First Team for the second year in a row. Sluss was among the best goalkeepers in the country as she was 4th in the nation and top of the Crossroads for save percentage at .879. The junior's goals-against average (.39) was tied for 1st in the conference and 3rd in the NAIA. She led the Wildcats in minutes played and produced 11 shutouts, 51 saves, and only 7 goals allowed in 18 matches.

 

 

 

 

JULIA TIEMANN 

HONORABLE MENTION

Julia Tiemann named a Crossroads League Honorable mention for the first time. The junior was another important piece of the Wildcat defense, starting all 18 matches and playing 1,440 minutes. Tiemann contirbuted to helping IWU to 11 clean sheets and only 2 goals allowed in league play. The defender scored her first career goal and recorded an assist for 3 points this season. 

 

 

 

ANNA PETTITT  

HONORABLE MENTION

Anna Pettitt earned her first career All-Crossroads League award as an Honorable Mention. Pettitt rounds out the backline as all four starting defenders for IWU earned a spot on an All-League team. The junior scored 3 goals, tied for 4th on the team, and added 2 assists for 8 points this year. The defender played in 18 matches, starting 16 and played 1,373 key minutes for the Wildcats.
